Bitcoin Core is a Bitcoin software that is being actively used today and is represented by the BTC symbol. BitcoinCore was created by Satoshi Nakamoto and was previously known as Satoshi Client and Bitcoin-Qt. Bitcoin Core software is used and developed by Bitcoin miners around the world, so it creates the Bitcoin network. BitcoinCore functions to verify transactions, create private and public keys and has the ability to create a block with the capacity to process around 1,800 transactions every 10 minutes.

Bitcoin Core programmed to decide which blockchain contains valid transactions. The users of Bitcoin Core only accept transactions for that blockchain, making it the Bitcoin blockchain that everyone else wants to use. Decentralized

It is these users who keep Bitcoin decentralized. They individually run their own Bitcoin Core full nodes, and each of those full nodes separately follows the exact same rules to decide which block chain is valid.

No Voting

There’s no voting or other corruptible process involved: there’s just individual software following identical rules—”math”—to evaluate identical blocks and coming to identical conclusions about which block chain is valid.

In addition to improving Bitcoin’s decentralization, Bitcoin Core users get:

  1. Better security for their bitcoins
  2. Privacy features not available in other wallets
  3. User interfaces and other powerful features
